Statement
I paint lines that make space. Once upon a time these lines explored the easels, walls and floor of my studio. Then I lived in Italy and saw Piero and hit my head. No longer confinable to rational space, my studio expanded as I painted the hillside towns of Umbria, graduating to the towering buildings of New York City and humble backyards of Brookyln. Now my lines map the jungles of Central America and the high plains of the American West. I draw lines that rip through three feet of fresh Colorado snow, lines that duck and dodge NYC traffic on two wheels, lines that carved out the canyons of the Southwest through the centuries and the lines that I travel through life. I draw lines trying to understand where I fit physically and spiritually in the universe.
